In search of potential new additions, the 1. FC Kaiserslautern also looks closely at the direct competition. Semih Sahin is now said to be high on the wish list, who, with SV Elversberg, had recently just missed the promotion to the Bundesliga.
Semih Sahin has been in the midfield headquarters at the second division club SV Elversberg for four years. He had moved to Saarland in the summer of 2021 in times of regional league, celebrated with the sports association since the two promotion and is known to move into the Bundesliga relegation this year, which was just lost against 1. FC Heidenheim.
In German professional football in the 2nd Bundesliga and the 3rd league, the Mannheim-born played 79 games for the Elversberger so far and could now leave the club this summer.
After Sahin was most recently traded by promoted Hamburger SV, the 1st FC Kaiserslautern is now said to have serious interest in the 25-year-old.
Sahin still has a contract in Elversberg until 2027
The red devils have already come into contact with Semih Sahin or his environment directly. According to a recent “Sky” report, the first discussions were held between the Palatures and representatives of the German-Turk. To date, however, without concrete results.
Sahin is still bound to the Elversberger by 2027, so it would at least import the association a proper transfer fee. Since the short-missed Bundesliga promotion, several Elversberger top performers have been traded at other clubs in the past few days.
Success coach Horst Steffen had recently returned to the club and was installed as the new head coach at Werder Bremen in the German football upper house.
