Why your shopping cart will continue to become more expensive: “Without clear rules, we are heading for a catastrophe”

In a year, a bar of chocolate in the supermarket became 44% more expensive and a prime rib 23%. For a shopping cart that you could still pay with 100 euros in 2024, you now count 105 euros. But the worst has yet to come, warns supermarket expert Pierre-Alexandre Billiet. “We can still praise ourselves with those high prices, other times are coming.”
