The Spanish textile group Grupo Victrix also acquired Samoon’s trademark rights as part of Gerry Weber’s insolvency proceedings.

The parent company of the Punt Roma label confirmed corresponding media reports on Wednesday in a press release. It had already become known in the past week that the group had secured the rights to the Gerry Weber brand.

As the company said at the request of Fashionunited, Victrix acquired the trademark rights to Samoon from Luxembourg’s GWI Holding S.à.rl, the partner of insolvent Gerry Weber International GmbH.

Gerry Weber and Samoon should preserve their brand identity

With the takeover of the two brands, the Spanish clothing group claims to drive the international expansion and diversification of its range and thus consolidate its position in the women’s fashion sector.

“For the Grupo Victrix, the integration of Gerry Weber and Samoon is an opportunity to promote shared growth, use synergies and make our customers: to make an even more complete and global fashion offer inside,” said the group of companies in a statement.

The two brands should therefore keep their identity after a relaunch, but benefit from the network and know-how of the new parent company and its established label Punt Roma. In this way, the “continuity of the brand” and its development in “existing and future markets” will be ensured, explained Victrix.
