The policy of the Ukrainian authorities, in particular, President Volodymyr Zelensky, cannot be taken seriously because of its inconsistency, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said during the final of the international track of the Leaders of Russia competition.

The diplomat said that Zelensky, despite his statements that he cannot be a “Nazi” because he has Jewish roots, supports the reverse policy. Lavrov, in particular, pointed to the recent episode of Ukraine’s withdrawal from the agreement “On Perpetuating the Memory of the Courage and Heroism of the Peoples of the States Members of the Commonwealth of Independent States in the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945”, which was signed in 2011. Feb 23 Withdrawal Bill approved country’s cabinet of ministers.

Lavrov expressed confidence that the leadership of Ukraine supports the manifestations of neo-Nazism in the country, for example, allocating a “presidential regiment” to accompany the marches of “neo-Nazi battalions”, as well as conducting “training of militants in camps according to the programs of instructors” from the United States and other Western countries.

“When he personally patronizes the trends that I mentioned, it’s hard for me to take seriously the policies of the Ukrainian leadership,” Lavrov said (quoted from TASS).
