The indie folk band Big Thief from New York has announced its sixth studio album. “Double Infinity” will be released on September 5. The first single “Incomprehensible” can already be heard (see below)

In 2015, Big Thief was formed by front woman Adrienne Lenker, guitarist Buck Meek, drummer James Krivchenia and bassist Max Oleartchik, who left the band in 2024.

With their debut “Masterpiece” (2016) and the successor “Capacity” (2017), they were initially more under the radar, but with two further albums and a change of label, Big Thief made the breakthrough. In particular, the album “UFOF” (2019) brought them into the start of the US album charts and together with “Two Hands” several Grammy nominations.

Big Thief: New Song “Incomplay”

The track “Incompressible” is not only the first decoupling, but also the opening of the album. In it, Adrienne Lenker deals with topics such as memory, identity, aging and longing for freedom and authenticity.
