It was the Antwerp branch of the Singaporean PSA that could run with the honor on Tuesday. The rail connection brings goods from the PSA terminal in Zeebrugge directly to the North Sea Terminal in Antwerp. At PSA they speak of “sustainable hinterland connectivity”.

In recent years there was almost no demand for a rail connection between the two ports. Among other things, due to the congestion, there would now be another hole in the container market. Since Monday, the service has been running three times a week in both directions, as an alternative to road transport. In total, the new rail connection would be responsible annually for the transport of 26,000 TEU (standard size for containers, ed.).
