For Formula 1 record world champion Lewis Hamilton, not much is yet going together at Ferrari. The Briton was able to set a few highlights, but usually he only drives behind in his SF-25. The car is and remains its biggest problem.

It is still too early to assess the change from Lewis Hamilton to Ferrari as a failed experiment. At the same time, it is obvious that the driver and team had promised themselves more of the first nine races of the Formula 1 season-significantly more. But material and driver simply do not (yet) go together.

“What he tells us is that he has changed his driving style in a way that is very uncomfortable for him,” reveals the long-time Formula 1 journalist Julianne Cerasoli in the “F1 Nation” podcast that the SF-25 simply does not react as Hamilton would like. Finding a solution to this problem is accordingly “complicated”, added Cerasoli.

“And then the car seems to him to be slipped”

In the journalist’s eyes, Hamilton faces a “puzzle” that he now has to solve. “Two weeks ago in Imola he told us that he has never felt so good in the car. And then the car seems to be slipping out. In this race [in Barcelona] he complained all the time. “

In fact, the Grand Prix of Spain for Hamilton was a single nightmare. The data show that he was never at the level of the competition and had to fight hard in every round, so that he was even close to keeping up to teammate Charles Leclerc.

After the finish line, the Brit then found clear words for the race. Technically, it was the “worst experience” he had ever had in an F1 car, the seven-time champion complained. “I have no idea why it was so bad,” he said at a loss. When asked what positive aspects he could take with him, he said meaningfully: “Zero.”
