Five years after his celebrated label Sies Marjan, the Dutch designer Sander Lak is back with a new brand. His still nameless debut label will be presented in June as part of the Paris men’s fashion week.

LAK gained international fame for its modern silhouettes, experimental use of materials and its unmistakable feeling for colors. It is not without reason that he was celebrated in the industry as the “King of Colors”. After the closure of Sies Marjan, the illustrated book The Colors of Sies Marjan appeared, in which Lak’s designs are not chronological, but by colors – a clear confession on its color -intensive design manuscript.

During his time at Sies Marjan, Lak was awarded the CFDA Award for Emerging Talent and was nominated for the CFDA Award in the Womenswear Designer of the Year category.

The Label Sies Marjan was based in New York and had to close in 2020 as a result of the economic effects of Corona pandemic. “Covid-19 had a big impact on us as a young and independent company,” said Lak in a press release at the time. “With a heavy heart we made the difficult decision to close our company.”
