The coach Stefano Vukov, blocked by the Women’s Tennis Association WTA for one year, actively takes action against his exclusion from all tournaments of the tour. In the immediate vicinity of his long -time protégé Elena Rybakina, the coach is already located despite his boating.
Elena Rybakina’s locked (ex) trainer Stefano Vukov has intervened against his one-year lock at the WTA and demands premature cancellation. This is reported by the portal “The Athletic”, which refers to two anonymous and familiar sources.
According to the report, Vukov hopes for a so -called arbitration that is intended for such cases in the WTA regulations. It will not happen to a walk in court. The WTA itself did not want to comment on the processes on “The Athletic” request.
Rybakina maintains “toxic relationship” to Vukov
Vukov was initially suspended by the association at the end of 2024, then blocked. In an investigation report, he was charged with serious misconduct against Rybakina, which, according to the statement, was put under pressure from her trainer, both mentally and physically beyond a healthy level.
However, Rybakina itself contested any misconduct and always gave her (ex) trainer backing. What makes things complicated: According to the investigation report, the world-class player and Vukov maintain a private relationship. The WTA came to the conclusion that it is a “toxic relationship”, from which the 25-year-old in particular has to suffer.
Tennis coach on Rybakina’s side
As of today, Vukov is not allowed to stay on the facility or train with Rybakina during the tournaments. Before the French Open began, however, the player openly admitted that the coach continues to look after the tournaments.
Officially, Vukov currently does not take a post in the team of the Russian -born. According to “The Athletic”, however, he will think about working as a kind of PR manager for the world ranking. The lock of the WTA would not affect him.
