The Sportfreunde Siegen are back in the regional league. After nine years in the top division, the joy was great. Maybe a little too big.
“Master shell, where are you?” The sports fans Siegen are looking for their trophy. The master of the Oberliga Westfalen, who will be playing again in the Regionalliga West in the coming year, misses his master shell. On Tuesday afternoon, Siegen called for help in an Instagram post. The shell was lost after the last home game last weekend.
“Whether accidentally taken with them, relocated or stolen: We urge to return to return,” it says. “The shell is not only a symbol of our success, but also an emotional part of this unforgettable season. Honesty and fair play should also apply away from the field – therefore our appeal: brings back the shell, anonymously and without consequences.”
The former second division is back in the Oberliga Westfalen after nine years in the Regionalliga West. The traditional association has gone through several bankruptcies in the past decades, dared to take new attempts and have now made the jump back into fourth class. The joy in the Leimbach stadium was great, apparently just a little too big.
