Hannover 96 made the fifth newcomer to the fifth. The Lower Saxony helps with a relegated league.
The fifth prank for the summer: Hannover 96 again struck the transfer market. Jonas Sterner strengthens Lower Saxony. The 23-year-old right-back comes from Bundesliga relegated Holstein Kiel. In the past season he was under contract with third division Dynamo Dresden, with whom he made the promotion to the 2nd Bundesliga.
In Hanover, the 23-year-old receives a contract until June 30, 2028. Kiel and Hanover agreed on the transfer fee and other transfer modalities.
96 sees the native Husumer as a player with a lot of offensive urge. “He only turned 23 a few weeks ago – we are convinced that he can already assert himself well in the 2nd league, but at the same time did not yet have arrived at the end of his development,” said Managing Director Marcus Mann.
Sterner himself is looking forward to his new task in the state capital of Lower Saxony. “In the conversations, those responsible showed me exactly how they see me and with what strengths I can help the team and can also make up the difference from my position – but also where I can still start to improve and develop my game,” he says. In Hanover he therefore sees himself “in good hands.”
For Dresden, he ran in 32 third division games last season, scored two goals and prepared eight more goals. He had a significant part in the fact that the Saxons climbed into the 2nd league as second in the table. In the course of his career, he also comes to 36 second division games. He also ran eight times for the young teams of the German national team from the U15 to the U18.
In addition to Sterner, Hanover already made the obligations of Maurice Neubauer (SV Elversberg), Franz Roggow (Borussia Dortmund) and Benjamin Källman (KS Cracovia) and rental returnee Marius Wörl (Arminia Bielefeld) perfect for the upcoming season.
