It was only last year that Jürgen Wehlend took over as CEO with Hansa Rostock. Now his time with the third division club is over again.

After only 14 months, FC Hansa Rostock separates from CEO Jürgen Wehlend. This was announced by the third division soccer team and confirmed corresponding media reports, including the “Ostsee Zeitung”. The message states that the Supervisory Board decided to end the collaboration with the 59-year-old. There was no reason for the time being.

According to FC Hansa, a successor has already been determined. “The goal and premise was to adapt the new board even more to the needs of the association. For this purpose, we will first inform our members, partners and employees promptly,” Sebastian Eggert is quoted in the message. On Tuesday at 10.30 a.m., he and his 1st deputy Mario Hensel want to comment in front of the media.

Wehlend was initially provisional since spring 2024 and then in September with a two -year contract at the FCH in office. He had succeeded Robert Marien. “We thank Jürgen Wehlend for his willingness to take responsibility for FC Hansa,” said Eggert.
