After 47 years, the club from Velsen-Zuid returned to the highest Dutch football level after the 1-3 victory over Willem II yesterday.

Hundreds of supporters

On Plein 1945 in IJmuiden, the football players were honored by hundreds of supporters. The Telstar players came up one by one and were received with loud applause and singing by the fans present.

Trainer Anthony Correia took the floor and thanked the fans for the years of “great support”. Although “the damn tricky” is for Telstar in the Eredivisie, he called on the supporters to continue to support the team.

Attacker El Kachati, who will leave Telstar, thanked the supporters for the past two years. “I can still remember that they came to the away games,” he said about the fans. “I wish them in the Eredivisie. Go for it men!”

The players’ group and staff ensured that the public did not lose sight of the jar for the promotion for a moment. That caused festive scenes.
