Megan Thee Stallion becomes an anime figure: At this year’s Dreamcon, the multi-award-winning rapper announced an anime series that will soon appear on Prime Video. The project is being built in cooperation with Carl Jones, the creative head behind the anime-sitcom “The Boondocks”.
Disguised as Yoruichi Shihōin from the cult anime “Bleach” Megan was on stage on May 30th and promised: “You have never seen an anime like this in your life.” In 2024, a documentary (“Megan Thee Stallion: in her words”) was already released on Prime about the artist, who gives insights into her life, her career and her way there.
A long -term love
Already in 2020, together with the “Crunchyroll” platform, she had designed an anime-inspired streetwear collection-including graphic shirts, hoodies and accessories, accompanied by the animated music video for “Savage”.
In an interview with “Crunchyroll”, she said about her enthusiasm for the genre: “I am half anime figure, half rapper.” And further: “I like it when you see a figure that is not particularly strong at the beginning – maybe even weak – but then goes through hard training. […] I transfer that very much to my own life. “
Bathing collection with “Hot Girl Summer”
Just one day before the anime announcement, the musician presented her first own swimwear collection at the Paraiso Miami Swim Week. “Everyone knows that I love being on the pool or beach,” Megan explained in a press release via “Complex”. “So I decided to transform my passion into a business and found my own swimwear brand. […] I used to buy from Walmart myself, so it is a special moment for me to be able to offer my own line there. ”
The 18-part “Hot Girl Summer” collection comprises colorful bikinis, one-piece and swimming overstream-at prices between $ 16 and $ 28. The line is available from Walmart, on its website and on your own website.
