It had already been feared, now it is official: Yann Aurel Bisseck cannot travel to the national team. A replacement is nominated for him.
Defender Yann Aurel Bisseck from Inter Milan will not be available to the German national team in the Nations League final. As the DFB announced on Sunday, Bisseck will be “due to muscular problems”. For him, national coach Julian Nagelsmann Thilo Kehrer from AS Monaco nominates.
The 24-year-old Bisseck was only briefly used on Saturday evening in the premier class against Paris Saint-Germain. Eight minutes after his substitution, he had to get off the pitch again – with problems in the right thigh. Bisseck left the field with a face that was distorted by pain. On Saturday he left open whether he would travel to Herzogenaurach on Sunday as planned on Sunday: “I hope”, he replied to the corresponding demand. The hope has now been disappointed.
Bisseck was the only German player in the final. In the starting line -up, Inters coach Simone Inzaghi initially waived him and only substituted him for Benjamin Pavard after the break.
Bisseck is already the third player to do without the Nagelsmann in the semifinals on Wednesday (9 p.m. in the live ticker at T-Online) in Munich against Portugal at short notice. The Mainz Nadiem Amiri left on Saturday with adductor problems, the Stuttgart Angelo Stiller said three days before arrival due to a ligament injury in the ankle.
Kehrer, who is expected on Monday at the team, played the last of his 27 caps in June 2023 under the then national coach Hansi Flick in Poland (0: 1). With Monaco, he qualified in the past season in France as the third for the Champions League.
