Personnel quakes at the sports magazine “Kicker”

The “kicker” has shaped German sports reporting for decades. But a lot will change soon at the specialist newspaper.
At the sports magazine “Kicker” there is an unexpected change at the top of the editorial team. The previous editor -in -chief Jörg Jakob and Alexander Wagner leave their positions. The publisher announced this in a press release – without letting the two of them have their say.
The step is justified with a “comprehensive transformation project”. The editorial team should therefore be re -established in order to promote the digital orientation of the brand in particular. The message states that you want to modernize “structures and processes”.
Bärbel Schnell, CEO of the Olympic publisher, under which the “kicker” appears, thanked Jakob and Wagner “for their exceptionally great commitment in the past decades”. Both had played the magazine decisively for a long time: Wagner has been there since 1997, Jakob since 2003.
The editor -in -chief is not filled directly and instead replaced by a so -called “editorial board with specialized role profiles”. So far, which people belong to this committee has not been communicated. An external media consultant should also be integrated into the conversion.
