JK Rowling is known for two things: as the author of the “Harry Potter” series and as a prominent critic of trans-law concerns. Her public image has changed a lot in recent years. While many criticize their statements as hostile, Rowling decisively rejects these allegations. On May 25th, JK Rowling announced the foundation of his own organization, the “JK Rowling Women’s Fund” (JKRWF).
JK Rowling: New organization for “Gender -based rights”
The aim of the fund is to legally support those women who are committed to “gender -based rights in the workplace, in public life or in women -specific shelters”, according to the organization’s website.
Women can fill out a form there to apply for financial support. The organization is only personally financed by JK Rowling. In a post dated May 24, she explained: “I checked all options, and a private fund is the most efficient and uncomplicated way to implement it.”
JK Rowling on the court ruling in Great Britain: Transmen excluded
On April 16, a judgment was made in Great Britain, which re -established the definition of “woman” as part of the Equal Opportunities Act. Accordingly, only people who were born organic female should be considered in the future. Transmen are legally excluded from this definition.
JK Rowling welcomed the judgment publicly to X. In particular, she praised three Scottish women who had brought the case to court and wrote: “It took three extraordinary, stubborn Scottish women with an army in the back to negotiate this case in front of the Supreme Court, and with their victory they protected the rights of women and girls throughout the united kingdom.”
Rowling’s attitude continues to cause sharp criticism. Many accuse her of spreading transladical narratives and deepening social split. Former “Harry Potter” stars also critically commented: Daniel Radcliffe and Emma Watson publicly distanced themselves from her. Rupert Grint also did this, albeit more reserved.
