At the favorite check, there is no way around the overall classification drivers. The 19th stage marks the prelude to the decisive weekend and it is about seconds. The Mexican Isaac del Toro continues to carry the Maglia Rosa, but his lead of only 41 seconds on Richard Carapaz and 51 seconds on Simon Yates is anything but calming on this high mountain stage. So far, “Il Torito” has been incredibly strong, but today and tomorrow it is important to prove that he has the nerves and, above all, legs of a real tour champions.

The route: barely a meter flat
After the start in Biella, it starts comparatively human. The first increase in the 3rd category offers typical terrain for early attacks. Finally, the climb to Antagnod, officially only a 2nd category, but with a length of 9.5 kilometers and an average of 5%incline in combination with steep ramps is anything but a walk. The Giro d’Italia 2025 turns on the home straight.
