FC Metz is back in Ligue 1. After only one year in the French 2nd league, the team of coach Stéphane Le Mignan succeeds in return. Any Martial Tia brings Reims in the lead after 57 minutes before Matthieu Udol succeeds in the 78th minute. After the 1-1 from the first leg, the game goes into extra time. A double strike from Metz brings the decision here: Alpha Touré (110th minute) and Gauthier Hein (114th minute) shoot Metz back into the Ligue 1.
For Stade Reims, the sad highlight of two crazy football weeks is. A week later, Reims loses the cup final against Paris Saint-Germain 0: 3. Now the bankruptcy against Metz and the descent into the second division.
