In an apartment on the second floor of a complex for accompanied living on the Boutslaan in Eindhoven, a short fire raged just before half past eight on Thursday evening. A lot of smoke was released during the fire. As a precaution, several apartments were evacuated.
It is a complex of the Neos organization, where people who are in danger of becoming homeless in a protected environment can live in the presence of coaches. The fire was probably created in the living room of the apartment.
Investigation of explosion
It is being investigated whether an explosion for the fire might have preceded. The apartment was sealed around ten o’clock. Why the police did that is not clear. The Forensic Investigation Team of the police will continue on Friday with trace investigation.
Due to the intensity of the fire, the wall has received a big blow and the wall is less stable. The apartment was considerably damaged by the fire. The resident cannot return home for the time being.
There were no victims in the fire in the apartment. The resident of the house was not at home when the fire broke out. To be sure, the surrounding apartments were briefly evacuated.

Large clouds
The fire was under control around a quarter to nine. An eyewitness saw large clouds of smoke and many firefighters and police officers. The fire brigade arrived with two extinguishing vehicles and a platform. The police were present at the fire with four cars.
The apartment is ventilated and controlled by the fire brigade as a precaution. The Salvage Foundation, which provides help after a fire, comes to the house for further processing of the damage.
