ROma, May 29. (askanews) – The programmatic document entitled: “Health and well -being in menopause: the importance of a multidisciplinary approach and a personalized charge” was presented to the Chamber of Deputies. A document involving all reference professionals and that underlines the importance of a multidisciplinary approach of menopause and its personalized charge through a uniform path in the area.
The presentation event “Menopause without limits: new awareness and strategies” was organized on the initiative of the honorable Martina Semenzato, in collaboration with the Ets Onda Foundation. An important step so that this document is included in the center of future social-health policy agendas.
The initiative of the Parliamentary Intergroup President on Menopause
Martina Semenzato, parliamentary intergroup president on menopause, said: “The protection of women must necessarily involve our life cycles. Menopause is an important share of the life of all of us women. I strongly wanted these measures. It is a motion that starts from prevention, awareness, economic interventions, but also speaks of screening, because we women approach us too much to the knowledge of menopause and how to deal with it”.
To date, adequate support of professional figures against women and a homogeneous approach to national level is missing.
Nicoletta Orthmann, medical-scientific director of the Ets Foundation, intervened on the sidelines of the event: “The women who live menopause have a perception of a little accompaniment, of little support, it emerges very well from the data that we collected on this theme last year with a survey that involved a sample of 600 women”.
A topic, that of menopause, which largely involves scientific societies such as the Italian menopause company itself.
“The document that has been presented is an extremely interesting” – says Costantino Di Carlo, SIM president – “The Italian Society of Menopause is basically because it is a scientific society that tends to promote research in the field of menopause. I would like to represent that our society has carried out a vast epidemiological investigation on a very important aspect of menopause which is the parental syndrome”.
The Italian Society of Gynecology of the third age has as its objective to issue guidelines for professionals.
Guidelines about it
Stefano Lello, president of Sefite, said: “The Italian Society of Gynecology of the third age, in its role of scientific society that particularly deals with women in menopause, has as a mission to issue guidelines that may be supported by all colleagues who deal with menopause. This is created through the production of scientific documents published and based on medicine, or on evidence”.
Fulvio Berardo, General Manager Astellas Italy, also spoke to our microphones on the sidelines of the event: “We at ASTELLAS, as a pharmaceutical company, we believe that having made available therapeutic innovation to manage the vampates in menopause is not a arrival point, but a starting point. Conversing with reference clinics.
The impact of menopause on women’s health
It is estimated that in Italy 17 million women in menopause and perimenopause with a widely underestimated health impact. More reason not to leave women alone in facing the physical and psychological inconveniences related to menopause, thus also reducing the risks of related pathologies.
The document presentation of the document to the Chamber of Deputies was organized with the non -conditioned support of ASTELLAS.
