MIlano welcomed the IMagine Dragons with an overwhelming enthusiasm Tuesday 27 May at the La Maura of San Siro Hippodrome, for The Italian inaugural stage of “Loom Tour”. In front of 65 thousand spectators, the band led by Dan Reynolds inflamed the audience with a powerful and visceral show. The audience, made up of young fans but also by many families, sang every hit, from Thunder to Whatever it Takesembracing warmly The contagious energy of the Las Vegas group. Reynolds, dressed in black from head to toe, invited everyone to leave the daily thoughts behind: “Tonight we are here to celebrate life”he said, welcoming the roar of the crowd.
The microphone that flies (literally)
Between stadium lights and choirs, one of the most unexpected moments of the evening involved the frontman. During a particularly full of adrenaline performance, Reynolds’ microphone literally flown off the stage. A moment of surprise, a few seconds of technical loss, but without losing a blow: the singer immediately recovered the microphone and started to perform without interrupting the song. The public reacted with a collective laugh and a thunderous applause, transforming what could have been a stumble on one of the most authentic moments of the evening. Reynolds then ironized on the incident with a smile, showing his ability to remain connected with the public also in the unprecedented.
The commitment of the Imagine Dragons
In addition to music and entertainment, there was a space for reflection. In the middle of the concert, the band gave the public a moment of recollection, intonando Lean on me by Bill Withers with acoustic arrangements. Immediately afterwards, the ladder returned to climbing in intensity, culminating with three of their most iconic songs ever: Radioactive, Demons and a great ending on the notes of Believer. Just at that moment, Reynolds appeared wrapped not only by music, but also by one Ukrainian flag and from a Palestinian: a symbolic gesture that moved the public and concluded the concert with a message of peace and social commitment.
