Indian Wells: Rublev, Fritz, Nadal, Alcaraz in the semifinals

Indian Wells (AP) – Andrej Rublev and Taylor Fritz complete the semifinals at the Tennis Masters in Indian Wells.

Rublev defeated the Bulgarian Grigor Dimitrov 7:5, 6:2, the American Fritz had to go through three sets against Miomir Kecmanovic from Serbia and won 7:6 (7:5), 3:6, 6:1.

The Russian Rublev, who is participating in the ATP tournament as a neutral athlete because of the war in Ukraine, and Fritz meet in the semifinals. For Rublev, victory in the quarterfinals was the 13th in a row.

Nadal in the duel of generations

Tournament favorite Rafael Nadal has already won 19 games in 19 games this year. The 35-year-old world number one Nadal meets his young compatriot Carlos Alcaraz in a duel of generations in the second semi-final.

The hard court tournament in the Californian desert, worth around 8.6 million US dollars, is one of the most important tournaments of the year.
