The French luxury group Hermès has started building a new production facility of its subsidiary Beyrand. The manufactory, which is due to open in Couzeix (Haute-Vienne) in 2027, will specialize in tablewear.
Around 300 employees: In the future, the inside will be employed in Couzeix. The focus is on the printing techniques for so -called Chromos and the applying of decorative elements on porcelain – two traditional craftsmanship, which Hermès maintains with high expertise. In the course of the announcement, the company also announced that it would set up special training programs for future employees.
The new production facility is being built on an area of 13,000 square meters. The building was designed by the architect François Bouchaudy, who has already shaped the Hermès gantry and maroquinery in Saint-Junien. The design combines wood and glass and provides for the installation of 2,800 square meters of photovoltaic panels and a system for recovery of waste heat – a clear confession for sustainable construction.
The investment in Couzeix is part of a larger expansion strategy: Only a month ago, Hermès announced the opening of a new leather goods factory in Colombelles (Normandy) for 2028 northern France. The continuous expansion of the production network reflects the solid economic situation of the company. In the 2024 financial year, Hermès generated sales of 15.2 billion euros – an increase of 15 percent compared to the previous year.
Hermès currently operates 60 production and training locations worldwide and a network of almost 300 boutiques in 45 countries. The company employs 25,185 employees worldwide, including 15,556 in France (as of 2024). Hermès has been managed by Axel Dumas, a member of the sixth generation of the founding family since 2013.
