Peace between DSquared2 and Staff International.
The DSquared2 Group and Staff International have signed a strategic agreement to continue their cooperation in the production and sales of the brand’s ready-to-wear collections.
“This decision will lay the foundation for a collaborative approach in which Staff International will support the brand in the internalization of the Ready-to-Wear business from the spring/summer season 2027 (FS27),” says an official message. The transaction reflects a common, future -oriented vision with the aim of further expanding the long -standing partnership and the previous brand success.
At the beginning of April, the DSquared2 Group surprisingly announced the immediate end of the license agreement with Staff International SPA. In a brief message, the company said at the time that in the future he wanted to take over direct control over the production and sales of the ready-to-wear collections.
Thereupon OTB – the parent company of Staff International – reacted immediately and submitted a lawsuit against Grascoe Holdings Limited, DSquared2 Trademarks Limited as well as the designer Dean and Dan Caten at the Milan Court. The aim of the lawsuit was to achieve the complete enforcement of the existing license agreement and the continuation of the cooperation.
The new agreement between the parties, which has now been signed, is based on an increasingly transparent and synergetic approach. The aim is to promote an active exchange of know-how, technologies and sales resources. This is intended to target the growth of the collections, secure the stability of the processes and to support the path from DSquared2 to internalize the business model.
“The path is controlled collaboratively via a structured plan based on transparency, respect and mutual trust. This decision marks a significant milestone in a long -term partnership that builds on common values and goals – with deep respect for everyone involved and a clear vision for the future of the brand,” says the communication.
The collaboration with Brave Kid, another company of the OTB Group, is also extended: The children’s collections developed by Brave Kid should continue until at least 2030.
