Hans takes a so -called ‘chest drill’ off the shelf. “He once bought a surgeon in a hardware store,” he explains. “With this a hole was drilled in a hip from the side to put it back in place.”

There is also a skull passer in the museum. “The Germans thought they could read which race someone was,” Hans continues. “In World War II, a professor used it to give Jews an Aryan statement in Amsterdam.”
