Juvenile judge releases 15-year-old due to a lack of space in closed youth institutions, but the court of appeal puts a stick for that

A juvenile judge in Ghent was forced to release a 15-year-old young man on 8 May, known for serious violence, due to a lack of space in the closed youth institutions. The Court of Appeal has now reformed that decision and ruled that the minor must still go to a closed institution. “Implementing such measures is the responsibility of the executive power, not the juvenile judge.”
