Wiesbaden (dpa -AfX) – The car is still the first choice for professional donors in Germany. Last year, 65 percent of those surveyed used their cars to get to the workplace. That was three percentage points less than four years earlier, but the car still remains the most important means of transport in rush hour traffic, as reported by the Federal Statistical Office.
16 percent of people used public transport. Your share has increased by two percentage points since the previous survey, which, according to the Federal Office, may be due to the introduction of the Germany ticket. This subscription is taken over or subsidized by many employers. On foot, six percent of the respondents came to work, one percentage point more than in 2020. With ten percent, the cyclist remained unchanged.
Half an hour and less
Regardless of the means of transport, a large part of 70 percent less than 30 minutes needed to get from a place of residence to work. While almost every fifth (19 percent) commuted less than 10 minutes, it was 10 to under 30 minutes in half (50 percent). Only six percent commuted one hour or more per route every day ./ceb/dp/stk
