The German darts talent Niko Springer has let its great potential flash for the first time on the Professional Darts Corporation (PDC) tours and just missed its first title.

The 24-year-old from Mainz moved to the final at the tournament of the European Tour in Rosmalen in Dutch, where Springer was only stopped 6: 8 by the Welsh world ranking in the world rankings.

Springer’s best result on the European Tour had previously been a round of 16. At the Dutch Darts Championship, the “Meenzer Bub” now threw number four in the world Stephen Bunting (6: 5) in the round of the last 32 from the tournament and then his German compatriots Martin Schindler (6: 2) and Ricardo Pietreczko (6: 2).

In the semifinals he defeated the Dutch talent Wessel Nijman 7: 3.

Only since this year Springer has had the PDC tour map. Due to his strong appearance in the Netherlands, he makes a leap from 93 to 76 in the world rankings, and he stroked £ 12,000 (around 14,000 euros) for his final participation.

Some top players such as world champion Luke Littler or the former dominator Michael van Gerwen, who takes a tournament break due to the separation from his wife Daphne, were not at the start at the seventh tournament of the European Tour.
