The 1. FC Köln celebrated the Bundesliga promotion extensively. Much of the team traveled together to Mallorca.
Usually they all carry the billy goat on the chest. On this special team photo, however, twelve professionals of the 1st FC Köln smile into the camera in very different jerseys. Left-back Learst Paqarada shared a snapshot from the team trip to the Ballermann, the FC players have celebrated the promotion together in Mallorca in the past few days.
On Sunday, the Cologne team crowned the second division champion with a 4-0 win against Kaiserslautern. After the party in the RheinEnergiestadion with the fans, the team moved on to the Friesen district in the evening and had turned the night into day in the “Heising & Adelmann”. The official end of the season was waiting on Monday in the Bickendorfer Club “Schrotty”. And then a large part of the players traveled to the party island par excellence.
Twelve promoters can be seen on the Mallorca photo: Luca Kilian, Mark Uth, Denis Huseinbasic, Jan Thielmann, Neo Telle, Marvin Obuz, Linton Maina, Steffen Tigges, Luca Waldschmidt, Timo Hübers, Julian Pauli and Learst Paqarada. The FC professionals pose together on the beach, equipped with a wide variety of jerseys and colorful headgear.
From the 3rd league to the Champions League and national team, everything is included: Waldschmidt wears a Brazil shirt, Pacarada a jersey from Liverpool FC and Obuz has chosen a jersey of his former Rot-Weiss Essen rental club. Other players, such as UTH in the Darmstadt-Dress or Huseinbašić in Kaiserslautern shirt, chose jerseys that they had exchanged during the promotion season.
This week even showed video material from the Cologne celebrations in Mallorca in the ARD. Carolin Kebekus showed a short clip in her show that Mark Uth had apparently sent her. It was to be seen and heard how the promoted “Bella Napoli” by “Roy Bianco & Die Abbrunzati Boys” were tired.
Some FC professionals, especially the fathers such as Dominique Heintz, did without the Mallorca trip and now take it a little more calmly after the parties in Cologne. There is another good reason that Eric Martel is missing from the Ballermann on the Ballermann team photo: the midfielder has engaged. Martel and his long -time girlfriend Caro show romantic pictures of the marriage proposal on Instagram. While the sun went down on the beach on a vacation together, the 23-year-old kept on his knees-and of course his loved one said “yes”.
For Martel and Thielmann, the summer vacation has already ended again for the time being. The two U21 international will prepare for the European Championship in Slovakia with the DFB team from Sunday (June 11th to 28th). But the majority of the “billy goats” can look forward to an extensive break. Thanks to the promotion, the first competitive game of the new season is only waiting in the DFB Cup in mid-August-two weeks after the start in the 2nd Bundesliga.
