“People drive especially to see what is in the garden. Others stop and take a photo,” says Ton Sjerps with some pride.
Garden in SEW-Fferen for possible championship
The SEW volunteer has given his front garden a metamorphosis for this special occasion. A sign and two hardplastic cows indicate which match is on the program, Easter hazes must propose the players of SEW and VZV.
Even the flat cart – on which the possible national title must be celebrated – has been simulated and is already ready. Eat banner on which ‘SEW champion’ is already being rolled out. “Premiery? Maybe. But if you still have to have this made after the game, then you’re too late.”

On Sunday it will be announced who will be champion of the Netherlands: SEW or VZV. The Nibbixwolders won the first gameVZV was the strongest last week.
Sjerps is one of those volunteers on which SEW floats. With his wife Mariella he is responsible for the time observation. “We are always in first rank,” he says with a smile. “In addition, I build up and down the room with a group. If that happened, I still scrub the floor with the scrubber. I do that about four times a week.”
