A supergroup is a very fragile matter. Rock bands are always about compensating for huge ego. But if these egos are oversized from the start, this can lead to major problems. That is why supergroups like blind faith often do not manage to go beyond a single album. And that’s why there were dramas with long -lasting groups like CSNY who never seemed to end.
10. Bad Company
Most important members: Paul Rodgers (Free), Simon Kirke (Free), Mick Ralphs (Mott the Hoople) and Boz Burrell (King Crimson)
Characteristic songs: “Bad Company”, “Feel Like Makin ‘Love”, “Can’t Get Enough” and “Good Lovin’ Gone Bad”
Current status: Bassist Boz Burrell died in 2006. They spent the summer on tour with Joe Walsh, although guitarist Mick Ralphs preferred to stay at home. As a replacement, they won Rich Robinson from the Black Crowes. Over the years they took many breaks and the occupation often changed. But they come back together every few years.
9. Audio
Important members: Chris Cornell (Soundgarden), Tom Morello (Rage Against the Machine), Brad Wilk (Rage Against the Machine) and Tim Commerford (Rage Against the Machine)
Characteristic songs: “I am the Highway”, “Like a Stone”, “Be yourself” and “Doesn’t Remind Me”
Current status: The band separated in 2006 due to “unsolvable personality conflicts and musical differences”, as Chris Cornell called it. The following year, Rage Against The Machine reformed and the world no longer had much need for audio lave. Since Zack de la Rocha was not interested in rage again, the other boys turned to Chuck D from Public Enemy and B-Real from Cypress Hill and founded Prophets of Rage. After the death of Chris Cornell, the chapter Audioslave was finally over.

8. The Highwaymen
Important members: Johnny Cash, Willie Nelson, Waylon Jennings and Kris Kristofferson
Characteristic songs: “Highwayman”, “Desperados Waiting for a Train” and “Silver Stallion”
Current status: Since The Road Goes on Forever (1995) They have not received anything anymore, and since then both cash as well as Jennings and Kristofferson have died. But it still seems as if the street of the Highwaymen is over. Because only Willie Nelson keeps the position.
7. Mad Season
Important members: Mike McCReady (Pearl Jam), Layne StaLey (Alice in Chains), Barrett Martin (Screaming Trees) and John Baker Saunders (The Walkabouts)
Characteristic songs: “River of Decceit”, “I Don’t Know Anything”, “Long Gone Day”
Current status: The Seastle supergroup had a very short existence, which was mainly due to stale’s increasing drug addiction and the full tour and recording plan by Pearl Jam. Saunders died of an overdose of drugs in 1999, staley three years later. In 2015, McCready and Martin came together with Chris Cornell and Duff McKagan to honor the group’s music with a performance at Benaroya Hall in Seattle.
6. Blind faith
Important members: Eric Clapton (Cream), Ginger Baker (Cream), Steve Winwood (Traffic) and Ric Grech (Family)
Characteristic songs: “Can’t Find My Way Home”, “Presence of the Lord” and “Had to Cry Today”
Current status: After a single tour in 1969, Eric Clapton became too much life in a supergroup and he joined Delaney and Bonnie. Grech died in 1990 and there was no real reunification of the group. Although Clapton and Winwood went on tour together in 2009 and filled the set with blind faith classics. Finally, Ginger Baker died.

5. Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young
Important members: David Crosby (The Byrds), Graham Nash (The Hollies), Stephen Stills (Buffalo Springfield) and Neil Young (Buffalo Springfield)
Characteristic songs: “Ohio”, “Teach your Children”, “Carry On” and “Deja Vu”
Current status: They survived prison, hard drugs, endless personal conflicts and a miserable reunion album in the 1980s. But in 2015 they dissolved because David Crosby couldn’t help but pull over Neil Young’s girlfriend Daryl Hannah and Graham Nash’s new friend Amy Grantham. David Crosby is dead.
4. Them Crooked Vultures
Important members: Dave Grohl (Nirvana, Foo Fighters), Josh Homme (Queens of the Stone Age) and John Paul Jones (Led Zeppelin)
Typical songs: “New Fang”, “Mind Eraser, No Chaser” and “No One Loves Me And Neither Do I”
Current status: The group published a self -titled album in 2009 and played shows all over the world until 2010, but has become very quiet since then. Grohl and Homme obviously have a lot around the ears, but they say that they hope to take up an album with them Crooked Vultures at some point. It may never happen, but it is much more likely than that Led Zeppelin goes on tour again.
3. Temple of the Dog
Important members: Chris Cornell (Soundgarden), Jeff Ament (Pearl Jam), Mike McCready (Pearl Jam), Stone Gossard (Pearl Jam) and Matt Cameron (Soundgarden, Pearl Jam)
Characteristic songs: “Hunger Strike”, “Say Hello 2 Heaven” and “Reach Down”
Current status: Her only album was intended as a unique tribute to the front man of Mother Love Bone, Andy Wood, but became a gross classic. No chance of a reunion after Chris Cornell’s death.
2. Cream
Important members: Eric Clapton (Yardbirds), Ginger Baker (Graham Bond Organization) and Jack Bruce (Manfred Mann)
Signature songs: “White Room”, “Sunshine of your love” and “I’m so glad”
Current status: Jack Bruce and Ginger Baker were bandmate in front of Cream. And already had great tensions before Cream was founded. Things got worse when Cream started and Eric Clapton pulled the plug in 1968. They reformed for a handful of shows in 2005, but age did not stop Bruce and Baker from falling back into their old habits. They even had a dispute on the stage in the Madison Square Garden. Bruce’s death in 2014 nailed any chance of further activities by Cream. Ginger Baker followed him.

1. Traveling Wilburys
Important members: Bob Dylan, Tom Petty, Roy Orbison, Jeff Lynne and George Harrison
Typical songs: “Handle with care”, “End of the Line” and “She’s My Baby”
Current status: Roy Orbison died shortly after the group’s debut hit in 1988 was on the shelves. In 1990 they recorded an album. But they all felt that it wasn’t the same without Orbison and dissolved the group. The group was so short -lived that it never performed live.
After Harrison’s death in 2001, only three members were alive. It is difficult to imagine that you will ever act as the Traveling Wilburies again. However, Lynne and Petty occasionally play Wilburys songs at their own appearances.
