Recommendations of the editorial team
As early as the end of 2024, there were rumors that “Scrubs” could receive a reboot. At that time it was not clear when the project would actually be implemented, but Zach Braff expressed clear interest in the role of Dr. To take over John Michael Dorian (“JD”). Now, among other things, “Deadline” reported on the confirmation of the project. Braff then shared news with his fans in his Instagram story.
Not without complicated contract negotiations
The actor is said to have already signed the contract for the new series. In advance, however, there seems to have been complicated negotiations. The main reasons were probably Braff’s salary and his wish to shoot the series in Los Angeles and not in Vancouver as originally planned. At which location was ultimately agreed is not yet known for the public, just like the start date of the series.
In addition, a special deal between 20TH Television and Warner Bros.tv, since the developer of the series, Bill Lawrence, has exclusive contracts.
Can you look forward to well -known “Scrubs” faces?
It is still unclear whether the remaining characters are also embodied by the original actors: on the inside. According to “Deadline”, however, Sarah Chalke (Elliot Reid), Donald Faison (Christopher Turk), John C. McGinley (Dr. Cox) and Judy Reyes (Carla Espinosa) are to be asked for their roles.
Last autumn, Bill Lawrence revealed that the new production should be a mixture of revival and reboot. In addition to the known figures, new characters should also be introduced. However, no more details of this.
Everyday life in the Sacred Heart Hospital
It has been ten years since the last “Scrubs” episode flickered over international screens. Braff as the neurotic doctor JD and Faison as his cool best friend Turk made her spectators to laugh and cry for a total of eight years. Nine seasons were produced with a total of 182 episodes, which showed the everyday life of employees: inside Sacred Heart Hospital.
