MIlano, May 23rd. (askanews) – The Franco-Brazilian photographer Sebastiao Salgadofamous for his photos who have told peoples, landscapes and cultures around the world, He died at the age of 81.

Born, in Brazil, on February 8, 1944, Salgado moved to France in the sixties to complete his studies. He began his career as a photojournalist, also in war scenarios, working for great international agency such as Sygma and Magnum.
Over the years he has then decided to devote himself to the themes that were closest to him, the conditions of humanity and the planet.
Among his most famous photographic projects “Earth”, “Exodus”, “Amazonia” and “Genesis”, which in over 245 large -format shots, and in black and white, told the existence of a still uncontaminated planet.
To push him, as always, “a huge curiosity to see the world and know it”, had told the presentation of the exhibition in Milan in 2014.
A curiosity and a passion that have also prompted him to commit themselves concretely to save the planet by promoting for example important reforestation projects.
