The Düsseldorf e-commerce group The Platform Group AG (TPG) has expanded its service capacities. On Thursday, the company announced the foundation of TPG Fulfillment GmbH, which in the future is to take over logistics for “many partners of the TPG”. Carsten Heider was appointed managing director of the company based in Gladbeck.

In connection with the new foundation, the company took over a logistics camp in Gladbeck, which has an area of 12,000 square meters and a daily shipment capacity of 12,500 packages.

“The storage of products and goods of the partners connected to the platform takes place via the IT interface of the TPG software, the delivery directly to the logistics center in Gladbeck,” explained The Platform Group. “In addition to the storage of goods, all partners can handle their returns via the warehouse and the goods can be set live on the 25 platforms of the TPG.” In addition, the option with the landlord is “modular to expand the areas in order to use increasing space potential in the future”.

The new logistics location in Gladbeck replaces “island solutions”

Dominik Benner, the CEO of The Platform Group AG, explained the step: “We prepared the fulfillment solution for over a year, so that our thousands of partners can now store goods there and have it worked on,” he said in a statement. “This is part of our full-service approach. And there is another reason: In individual investments we have our own warehouse, distributed across Germany. We are now dissolving these island solutions and consolidating them to a location in Gladbeck.”

Benner also emphasized that the new solution will lead to significant savings and will improve the cost quota in logistics from the fourth quarter of the current year.
