But in the middle of the joy of the double success, the master shell was apparently lost.
After the final whistle, the trophy provided by the Deutsche Footbal League (DFL) in advance was initially put up by Mark Uth and Timo Hübers. Then the silver object wandered through numerous hands – and then suddenly disappeared, as the newspaper “Express” writes.
In an interview with the Pay TV broadcaster Sky, trainer Funkel said that the morning afterwards nobody knew the whaluinry of the shell at the Cologne training area. “I don’t know. According to Funkel, the shell was no longer seen on Sunday evening after the celebrations in the city center. “Maybe she took Linton Maina with me, I heard that he liked to make pranks,” he added – but was convinced that the piece was again.
In the meantime, the master shell has actually appeared again. As the “Express” reported on Wednesday, it is now safely kept in a suitcase at the Geißbockheim under the supervision of witness manager Frank Almstedt.
