Marcin Kaminski leaves FC Schalke 04 this summer after four years. It is unclear where it drives the former Stuttgart – which is quite busy.

Marcin Kaminski faces a uncertain future a few weeks before his contract at FC Schalke 04. “I would like to know how to proceed quickly. But I have to accept the situation, it may take a little longer,” the central defender is quoted by the “WAZ”.

The second division club had already announced at the end of March that the 33-year-old would not be offered an extension for the new season. In this respect, Schalke-Aus has long since been determined for eight times the Polish international. Nevertheless, a new task is still a long time coming.

A career end comes too early for Kaminski. Instead, he wanted to “look from year to year”, where he continues his career. For the time afterwards, the defender made a coaching license. “I will try it out and see if I really enjoy it. However, I will stay in football, that’s sure.”

Marcin Kaminski wishes FC Schalke 04 that

Marcin Kaminski switched from VfB Stuttgart to Gelsenkirchen in 2021, and he played 102 competitive games for Königsblau. In the past second division season, he was in the starting XI 25 times.

The “disappointment” about the team’s achievements shown in 2024/25 is “huge”, said the defender, who was officially adopted in the last home game against Elversberg (1: 2). Now he wishes his colleagues that the turnaround quickly succeeds under a new sporting management.

On June 1st, sports director Frank Baumann begins his work at FC Schalke 04. The first task of the ex-bremer is the choice of a new head coach. “For the boys, I hope that a trainer who has the team under control and has a clear plan,” said Kaminski.
