Peter van der Vorst, the television boss of RTL, is really attacked by Youp van ‘t Hek. The comedian finds it disgusting how he ‘abused’ the candidates of Married at First Sight.
RTL 4 always pretends to be Married at First Sight a whole mainstream and conventional program, but how rancid is it actually to get people who don’t even know each other? It is really a valid marriage to marital conditions. And all for the entertainment, because we all know that it doesn’t work.
Attention organs
Youp van ‘t Hek finds it fouter wrong. How does he summarize the show of presenter Carlo Boszhard? “Two deeply disturbed attention organs, who have never seen each other, step into a wedding boat that is as leaky as a rusty colander,” he writes in his Varagids column.
To make matters worse, every step afterwards is also incredibly staged, according to the comedian. “So before you know it, you will see two adult people doing their best after a painfully quiet breakfast to throw a frisbee in a metal basket in a still forest. The despair drips off the screen.”
Fouter than wrong
The problems soon follow and ‘experts’ have to appear on the scene like Eveline Stallaert. How Youp calls them? “All kinds of charlatans who call themselves psychologist or relationship expert without shame and who suck all kinds of solutions from their stupid thumbs.”
Those people are just destroyed for some nice TV amusement, he believes. “In the meantime, I think of the shrewd Peter van der Vorst and his cheering calculator. He laughs at all the time every week because he succeeded again in having a bothered hardness to have their pathetic vanity on TV.”
Master scammer
There are still quite a lot of people watch Married at First Sight. That must be ‘illiterate’, Youp thinks. “Because I have a weakness for master scurders, I suddenly heard myself muttering:” Respect, Peter. Deep respect. “
“And now soon continue with that bruising fair of that unbeatable B&B full of love.”
