The number of speeding violations in Belgium continues to rise, with 100,000 extra violations annually. The figures also show regional differences. Antwerp leads the list, followed by West Flanders in fifth place. In West Flanders, the number of speeding offenses rose to nearly 500,000 in 2023, an increase of 75% compared to 2019.
Especially in Bruges, the figures are remarkable, with 99,514 violations in 2023. In the police zones Vlas (Kortrijk-Kuurne-Lendelede) and Bredene-De Haan there was also an increase, while the RIHO zone had a decrease.
