Modern Opera conquers Europe during Songfestival: ‘Lots of fireworks and bells and whistles’

On Saturday evening, Johannes Pietsch – better known as JJ – won the Eurovision Songfestival with Wasted Love: a ‘airy opera with Technobeats’. Winner Nemo last year also sang partly with an opera mem. What makes this genre so special, and what is the power of modern opera? We spoke to a number of well -known opera singers.
