The future of Leroy Sané also remains a explosive topic at the FC Bayern master celebration on Munich Marienplatz. The bosses are contradictory.

Leroy Sané endeavors to patiently fulfill all self-made and autograph requests when he left the master celebration of FC Bayern in the Munich town hall. The moments of souvenir that made Sané fans possible in the courtyard were popular. No wonder it could have been the last of the 29-year-old at Bayern.

Sané finally rejected Bavaria’s contracting offer and is therefore faced with a farewell to the German record champions after five years. Sané preferred to say nothing about his now rather complicated situation, even when asked by the reporters.

But Bavaria’s bosses, on the edge of the master celebrations on Munich’s Marienplatz, at least indicated that nothing was finally decided. “Leroy has played with us for five years now. And it has not yet been completely decided,” said club president Herbert Hainer before the reception of the Munich master teams of the women’s and men’s Bundesliga in the town hall. Hainer announced rapid clarity: “This will certainly be decided these days.” At the latest by the World Cup in the United States in June, it must be clear, says Hainer.

Honorary President Uli Hoeneß spoke of an “eternal theater” of the media around Sané’s future. “That is his decision. He needs time for that,” Hoeneß said for understanding the international. And when asked how long Bayern would give him time, Hoeneß surprised with his answer. “By August 1, when the new season starts again,” said the 73-year-old: “If he has decided, we will let you know.”

The Bavarians, which could change free of charge in the summer, had made an offer to extend the contract by 2028, but said reports with significantly reduced references. “Leroy said today that he does not want to accept this offer in this form. This is also legitimate,” reported sports director Max Eberl after the 4-0 on Saturday at TSG Hoffenheim. Was it the last game of Sané in the Bayern jersey?

Eberl was still ready to talk on Sunday: “Whether we still find a consensus or not, of course I can’t say that. But the door is not on both sides.” Some contracts would also only be concluded in July or August, said the sports director. That sounded different than with Hainer. “We won’t let us play with us,” Eberl announced.

In the meantime, Sané’s contract extension was already a matter of form – until the left foot recently changed the consultant. And now let Pini Zahavi represent you. A few years ago, Zahavi was also hired by Bayern striker Robert Lewandowski before moving to FC Barcelona. The star consultant also threaded the depoted farewell from David Alaba from Munich to Real Madrid.

“Leroy always campaigned and sometimes played great games,” said Hainer. When asked about Sané’s change of consultation, rejecting the Bayern offer and whether you could put up with it as a club, he added: “We didn’t put up with anything. We are also not a centimeter. We made it clear to him.” Hainer concluded: “If it accepts, we are happy. And if not, the world will continue.”

Since the summer of 2020, Manchester City has played Sané over 200 competitive games for the Munich team, sometimes more, sometimes less successful. More often, there were debates about the right mentality despite four championships that Sané won with Bayern.

The change theater also seems to have already left its mark among Bayern fans. When Sané stepped onto the master’s balcony and stretched the bowl, he was greeted rather cool and even with isolated whistles from the almost 15,000 fans on Marienplatz.
