The San Francisco 49ers put the future of their team in the hands of Brock Purdy and equip the quarterback with a highly endowed contract. At the beginning of his career it looked different.
Only selected as the last player in his year, now equipped with a mega contract: The San Francisco 49ers have agreed on long-term cooperation with Brock Purdy. According to the matching reports, the quarterback signs a five-year contract by 2030-with a total volume of $ 265 million (the equivalent of around 237 million euros). 165 million (around 148 million euros) are guaranteed.
Purdy was selected in position 262 in 2022 and was thus selected as the last player in the draft. This brought him the nickname “Mr. Harrelevant”.
In the meantime, the sheet has turned significantly: in his second season, the 25-year-old led the 49ers to the Super Bowl. There the team lost to the Kansas City Chiefs around Patrick Mahomes in February 2024.
San Francisco had disappointed in the previous season. The 49ers landed in the last place of the NFC West and missed the play-offs.
