Kortrijk and Leuven both won their home game in the quarterfinals and therefore had to decide in a third game who could play the semi -final. The Lange Munte in Kortrijk saw the home team switching a gear higher in part two after an equal first quarter. After a 24-13, the Kortrijk Spurs were allowed to rest with a 47-33 lead.
A reassuring lead, but Kortrijk’s hunger was not yet satisfied, Leuven also had to undergo the game in the third quarter. Thanks in part to a strong Sean Pouedet- good for 23 points on Saturday evening- the home team went further to 74-50.
The visitors from Leuven tried to get everything out of the closet in the last quarter, but the gap was no longer smaller than seven points. Kortrijk thus won the victory and the ticket for the semi -final. Final position: 87-79.
