After winning the Kanter in Hoffenheim, Bavaria’s coach Kompany answered the questions of journalists. But nothing came of them. Accordingly, he sat in the press room
Usually, journalists are struggling to ask questions to the trainer at FC Bayern Munich’s press conferences. Not only on Säbener Straße in Munich, even at away games there is regular hustle and bustle on such dates.
Coach Vincent Kompany pushed with a mischievous smile right behind: “I don’t expect a question – because we won 4: 0.” And his expectation was confirmed. Not a single press representative in the room formulated a question for him.
Press spokesman Nickles then let his eyes wander incredulously and then replied: “Yes, that was now a little attack. Maybe we are waiting for a few more. Or are only photos taken?”
When there was no reaction – apart from the clicks of the photo apparatus – Nickles replied with a view to coach Kompany: “Okay. Cheers!” The trainer, who had led Bayern to the German championship in the season that had just expired, then raised his water glass and thanked him.
The still a bit amazing Nickles added: “Thank you very much. All the best. Ciao. Servus.” Then coach and press spokesman left the room. There was no longer such a short press conference at Bayern for a long time.
