The German fabric manufacturer Outlast Technologies from Heidenheim, together with the Pakistani denim producer AGI, has developed a technology to equip cotton men with a temperature -regulating function – without compromising in the robustness and durability typical of jeans, according to the company.

“Jeans are indispensable in the fashion world- they fit on every occasion,” says Volker Schuster, head of the research and development department at Outlast Technologies GmbH. “However, with increasing temperatures you can become uncomfortable. We wanted to solve this problem. Our answer is a denim fabric that works with the body – not against him.”

Outlast has succeeded in incorporating nature wax directly into the fibers before the web process. When it is warm, these fibers absorb excess body heat and save them. This reduces sweat production and supports well -being. If the outside temperature cools down or if the physical activity drops, the stored heat is gradually released. In this way, freezing can be prevented. The company thus creates intelligent substances that interact with the body, intuitively adapt to the needs and ensure well -being.

The challenge in the development was that the integrated waxes also withstand the intensive washing and finishing processes that are common in denim production. At the same time, the denim fabrics in terms of appearance, feel and durability must meet the requirements for high -quality jeans.

Since the natural wax is integrated directly into the fiber structure, the temperature -regulating function remains unabated over the entire life of the clothing.
