Amateur footballer collapses on the pitch and dies

The Berlin amateur football mourns. In a game on the weekend, a player collapsed on the field shortly before the end. Now he’s dead.
Sad news from Berlin amateur football: Sven Franke died in a hospital on Tuesday evening. The Spandauer SV announced this on his website. The captain of the 1st men of the club was only 40 years old.
Franke collapsed on the field on Sunday in a district league game against Sperber Neukölln (4-1) a few minutes before the end. A supervisor had initially revived him by heart massage. The emergency doctor came shortly afterwards. Franke was brought to a heart center and put into the artificial coma. His condition initially stabilized there.
Two days later the shock: Franke will no longer wake up from the artificial coma, the club said. “This sad certainty dismayed us and hit us deeply.”
Shortly afterwards, Spandauer SV spoke up again: You lose “an exemplary and experienced sportsman.” The loss of Frank’s cradle. The whole club is “stunned, dismayed and very sad. We have nothing in our hands. Every life is a gift.” The Spandauer SV wished the relatives “lots of strength and comfort.”
The team should actually be back on the field again next weekend in their next league game. The game has now been canceled.
