Former Olympic cyclist and world champion Rohan Dennis34, received a two -year conditional prison sentence of his wife Melissa Hoskins of a fatal tragic accident, among other things Espn and The New Zealand herald.
Hoskins was also a former top cyclist. He was 32 when he died.
Dennis arrived in the South Australian District Court on Wednesday after granting guilt.
Dennis was arrested at the end of December 2023 when he hit Hoskins with his vehicle in the vicinity of a couple of home yards in Medindi in Australia. Hoskins suffered serious injuries and later died in the hospital.
Before the accident, the couple had quarreled in the kitchen renovation. Dennis then decided to leave the couple by car. However, Hoskins had blocked this by jumping on the bonnet of the car.
After that, Hoskins descended from the bonnet and stuck to the door’s door. When Dennis then accelerated, Hoskins stumbled and stayed allle.
When Dennis heard the Thump sound, he stopped the car and ran to help Hoskins.
Dennis was originally imposed for a year and for just over four months in an absolute imprisonment, but his repentance and a couple of little children supported the judgment.
The victim’s mother spoke in court and believed that Dennis would not have hurt his wife. The mother described the situation as a “tragic accident”.
Hoskins participated twice in the Olympics in his career (London 2012 and Rio 2016). He won the World Championship in 2015.
