The red carpet is ready, the doors of the Palais des Festival are open and everyone in Cannes is in the starting blocks. On Tuesday the festival starts for the 78th time, but it will really go loose when the biggest movie star in the world, Tom Cruise, makes its entry on Wednesday afternoon. Whether he uses the red carpet at his entrance – or just like last weekend in London suddenly appears on the roof of the theater – still has to be seen, but the festival has immediately focused on all eyes.
