A change from Florian Wirtz from Bayer Leverkusen to FC Bayern Munich is increasingly taking on more specific trains. After the “Bild” newspaper had recently reported that Wirtz and the Munich team had fundamentally agreed on a transfer, the “tz” now reports that there should even be a preliminary contract between the two parties.
Like the “picture”, the “tz” also reports that Bayern do not necessarily want to force a transfer this summer, but would also be willing to wait until the coming season.
In any case, in Leverkusen you still get combative, which affects a possible landlord for another season. Before the Bundesliga game against Borussia Dortmund on Saturday, managing director Fernando Carro emphasized that his gut feeling was with a 50:50 chance. “In the end, Florian has to decide for himself when he wants to take the next step,” he said.
Sports Managing Director Simon Rolfes also hopes to continue convincing Wirtz from the Leverkusen project. “Our claim is to show him that Leverkusen remains the right place for him,” he said. “He is a player of Bayer 04. We are fighting for him to be next season,” said Rolfes.
For FC Bayern, too, a change would not be quite attractive until 2026. After all, Leverkusen for Wirtz currently wants to generate a transfer fee of around 150 million euros. Since Wirtz ‘contract expires in Leverkusen 2027, the last option for the factory club would still be available in 2026. That could push the price for the German record champions down.
