Evangelos Marinakis is known as an impulsive club boss. After the game of Nottingham against Leicester, however, he stormed towards his own coach.

The frustration over the draw was deep – and unlocked directly on the field. After the 2-2 against Leicester City, who threw Nottingham Forest back in the fight for the Champions League places, club owner Evangelos Marinakis personally looked for a conversation with coach Nuno Espírito Santo-in the middle of the lawn.

Santo wanted to shake hands with the Greek owner, but he ignored the gesture and loudly started the coach. Marinakis scolded the coach for seconds before he left the field again visibly.

The starting point according to the draw: Nottingham is only seventh in the table, one point behind Aston Villa and Chelsea. Because the Premier League gets an additional starting place for the upcoming Champions League season due to their strong European Cup services, fifth place is enough to qualify.

With a victory, Nottingham would have at least temporarily achieved it. Now on the last match day it goes against Chelsea – a direct duel for the premier class.

Sky expert Gary Neville then made it clear: “What the owner of Forest did on the field is an absolute scandal. And if I were now, I would go there and talk to him a serious word.”

Marinakis is considered an impulsive club chief. In addition to Nottingham, the Greek record champion Olympiakos Piraeus is also part of him. In the past, he had caused a sensation several times with drastic statements. After a 0: 3 from Olympiacos, for example, he had insulted his players that they were “not even worth the toilet paper in our training center”.

The businessman has always come into focus apart from the lawn. The former shipowner is said to have been involved in corruption and manipulation affairs. He was also charged with heroin smuggling.

Marinaki’s owner of Nottingham Forest has been owned since 2017. Now he is in the headlines again – with an angry appearance in the middle of the field.
